Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates welcomes new Vice President of Operations

Boston, MA - (January 17, 2008) - Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a multi-specialty physician group with practice sites throughout eastern Massachusetts, proudly welcomes Mary Dawley as Vice President of Operations. Dawley brings more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience within both community-based physician practices and hospital settings in New England, together with an advanced degree in nursing administration, to this position.

Dawley worked at the Caritas Christi Health Care System since 1999 and was the Chief Operating Officer for the Caritas Physician Network. In this position, she directed operational activities, including training and compliance, for employed physician practices at six hospitals. She and her staff oversaw a network of approximately 400 physicians and 438 support and administrative employees, supported by a $162 million budget. Her accomplishments as COO included increasing co-pay collections, improving physician productivity in multiple specialties, and developing strategic and tactical plans to improve organizational performance.

Previously, Dawley was Director of Physician Practice Management for Caritas Medical Group and Director of Physician Practice Management for Caritas Medical Group. Dawley has been active in the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), most recently as a speaker at the MGMA Northern New England Conference in May 2007.

Dawley earned a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from University of Massachusetts, Worcester, a Bachelor in Nursing degree from Emmanuel College, and a diploma in nursing from Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing. She currently resides in Walpole, Mass.
