Juanita Butler of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates Selected for the 2008 New England Regional Black Nurses Association Excellence in Nursing Award

Boston, MA - (March 27, 2008) - Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a multi-specialty physician group with practice sites throughout eastern Massachusetts, is pleased to announce that Juanita Butler, a nurse care manager within the Kenmore obstetrics and gynecology practice, has been selected by the New England Regional Black Nurses Association (NERBNA) for its 2008 Excellence in Nursing Award.

Award recipients are nominated for their demonstrated excellence in their work professionally and for the direct impact they make to their department.

NERBNA is a participating member of the national effort to unify, educate and increase the number of African American nurses in the United States. NERBNA is dedicated to investigating, defining and determining the health care needs of African Americans throughout New England.

Butler has been with Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates since October 2006. She has been instrumental in developing a work flow for implementation of a high risk assessment tool for patients. Butler is a member of the Case Management Society of America and the statewide Diabetes Coalition.
