Gwendolyn Wright of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates Selected for the 2008 New England Regional Black Nurses Association Excellence in Nursing Award

Boston, MA - (March 27, 2008) - Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a multi-specialty physician group with practice sites throughout eastern Massachusetts, is pleased to announce that Gwendolyn Wright, a nurse care manager, has been selected by the New England Regional Black Nurses Association (NERBNA) for its 2008 Excellence in Nursing award.

Award recipients are nominated for their demonstrated excellence in their work professionally and for the direct impact they make to their department.

NERBNA is a participating member of the national effort to unify, educate and increase the number of African American nurses in the United States. NERBNA is dedicated to investigating, defining and determining the health care needs of African Americans throughout New England. Wright worked with Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates from 1990 to1995 and from May 2005 to the present.

Wright is on the Harvard Vanguard Breast Feeding Advisory Committee, she was elected to board of trustees for her condo association in Dedham in 2006 and that she was one of the original members of NERBNA as she joined as a student nurse in 1972.
